We want to help you build a good relationship your dog, whether that be through learning good communication skills and manners or by entering the arena of dog sports. We keep our boarding and training programs small so that we can give each client individualized attention tailored to their specific needs and desires. Let us help you take your dog to the next level!

Our Dog Training Approach

Southern Warrior K9 has over 20 years of experience in dog obedience training, puppy training, and competitive dog sports. We use a Reward Based System with a Balanced Approach, meaning we teach the skills using as much positive reinforcement as possible, and then layer over appropriate corrections once the dog understands what we are asking of them. Our dog trainers are passionate about helping families learn to communicate with their dogs using a clear and conflict-free method for long-term training results. We have proven ourselves on the trial field at both National and World championship level along with the results our clients have achieved with their own dogs. We guarantee we can help you achieve consistent results with your dog or new puppy, because reliable dog training keeps everyone safe and happy.

About Brad Hardin

(Head Dog Trainer)

Brad Hardin has been involved with competitive dog sports and hunting dogs for over twenty years. Since 2005, Brad has been heavily involved in protection-based competitive dog sports, including Mondio Ring, PSA, IPO, NWDA, and Iron Dog competitions. Brad became a certified Mondio Ring trial decoy in 2007 and a certified PSA trial decoy in 2008. In 2009, Brad decoyed the Mondio Ring National Championships.

Brad is the former Vice President of
USMRA, he served on the USMRA Decoy committee, and has been the head decoy/training director for three different clubs located in Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma.  Brad’s focus eventually moved from decoying to training.  In 2019, Brad took two dogs to the USMRA National Championships--his own K10’s Kitty Pryde, Belgian Malinois, at Level II and Lanzo van Arne's Hoeve, a German Shepherd owned by Samantha Barns and trained with Southern Warrior K9 at Level 1. Brad and Kitty went on to place third, and Brad and Lanzo placed second.  Lanzo also won the Decoy’s Choice award and best non-malinois competitor--rare accolades for a Level I competitor.  Brad and Lanzo went on to compete in the FCI Mondio Ring World Championships in Nedza, Poland later in 2019, placing 12th in their division.

In addition to his career in competitive dog sports, Brad has been working professionally as a dog trainer for over ten years, traveling the country to work with various organizations. Beyond his work with pet owners and in dog sports, Brad has worked with numerous police departments and high-end vendors who supply working dogs to both police and military organizations. Brad's experience also includes preparing police K9 teams for professional (CLEET) certification, and training dogs and handlers in narcotics detection, explosives detection, tracking, apprehension, and officer protection.
